This is part-time, fully benefitted position working 40 hours every two weeks, located at our Scripps Mercy campus in Hillcrest. Must be available to work a varied shift (start time will be dependent upon the department's need) and varied schedule including weekends. Great opportunity to join our Mercy San Diego Food Service Team. Located in the heart of Hillcrest, our vibrant team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of patient care experience. Our Diet Clerks provide administrative and clerical support for Food and Nutrition Services. Responsibilities include processing diet orders, assisting patients with menu selections, and distinguishing between food and medication allergies, Maintains current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance to the physician diet order. Checks tray line for patient tray accuracy. Able to function effectively in a call center environment. Serves as a liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues and basic questions about meals/diets.

Required Qualifications: Must be able to speak, read, and write English SD County Food Handler Card; or Food Safety Certificate, or able to pass Food Handlers test given by certified manager or designee within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Customer Service experience Food Service experience Food Service experience in a healthcare setting College courses in nutrition
