Estimator / Project Coordinator

Trueline's client, a rapidly growing specialty asphalt milling contractor, is seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator to join their team in the Greater Salt Lake City, UT area. Working directly alongside the owner, you'll play a key role in estimating, project coordination, scheduling, and helping scale a growing business, with a clear path toward becoming a trusted operational leader. What You'll Do as the Estimator / Project Coordinator Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs from construction plans and specifications Develop competitive estimates using production rates, labor, equipment, and material costs Review project drawings, bid documents, and specifications to identify project scope and potential risks Support project scheduling and coordinate upcoming work with field operations Assist with project planning, logistics, and resource allocation Communicate with general contractors, customers, and internal team members throughout the bidding and project lifecycle Maintain estimating records, bid history, and project documentation Utilize Excel and estimating software to organize project information and improve estimating accuracy Continuously identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and operational efficiency Partner directly with ownership to support the continued growth of the business Must-Haves as the Estimator / Project Coordinator Experience reading construction drawings and specifications Strong quantity takeoff and estimating skills Excellent math aptitude with an understanding of production rates and job costing Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and learning new software platforms Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and customer service skills Clean background and professional work ethic Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes Nice-to-Haves as the Estimator / Project Coordinator Experience estimating asphalt, paving, milling, sitework, earthwork, concrete, or heavy civil projects Knowledge of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements and production rates Scheduling or project coordination experience Experience with MethodCRM or similar CRM software Experience using estimating or project management software Our Client Offers Competitive base salary of $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience Performance-based bonus opportunity of approximately 10-20% annually, including company, project, and safety incentives Direct mentorship from the owner with significant opportunities for career growth Opportunity to become a key operational leader as the company continues to expand Fast-growing company with strong financial backing and an entrepreneurial culture High-impact role with broad exposure to estimating, operations, and project management Collaborative, hard-working team environment where initiative is recognized and rewarded Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
