Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

Join a small, family-run hospital practice in Denver as an NP or PA , the kind of team where some NPs have stayed for over a decade. You'll care for medically complex adults across LTAC, acute rehab, and hospital backup units in skilled nursing facilities, with 3+ months of physician mentorship to start. The role comes with a 3-day workweek, schedules that bend around family life where possible, phone-only call, and a fully paid CME week every year, airfare included. As the hospital backup unit program expands, there's room to grow with it. New grads are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based care to high-acuity adults, including ventilator-dependent patients
\n
• Round with the supervising physician for 3+ months before going independent
\n
• Partner with families on care decisions and updates
\n
• Participate in twice-weekly multidisciplinary rounds
\n
• Support nursing across the unit and take phone-only call
\n
• Travel between Denver-metro sites (compensated)
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Colorado NP or PA license, active or by start date
\n
• FNP, AGACNP, AGNP, AGPCNP, ANP, or PA-C
\n
• New grads encouraged; hospital or critical care experience a plus
\n
• Coachable, team-oriented, and open to the practice's approach
\n
• Complete a 3-month supervised period; 2–3 year commitment preferred
\n
• Respectful, non-judgmental care for all patients, including those from correctional facilities
\n
• DEA required for experienced NPs only
\n

Schedule & Compensation

\n
• $120,000–$130,000 salary | Raise reviews at 3, 6, and 12 months
\n
• 3-day workweek | Three 12-hour shifts per week | One weekend per month | Phone-only call
\n
• Flexible scheduling around partner jobs or childcare where possible
\n
• Health and dental | Malpractice | 15 PTO days + separate sick coverage
\n
• Paid CME week with airfare and per diem | Licensing, CPR, ACLS covered
\n
