Your challenge

• Can you turn standard work into daily habit? You’ll train, coach, and hold the team accountable.
• Can you balance resources on the fly? You’ll flex manpower to keep production on plan.
• Can you improve what you touch? You’ll evaluate equipment and methods and implement better ways of working.
• Can you solve problems at the root? You’ll partner with the Material Coordinator and Lean Tech on RCA and corrective actions.
• Can you lead with safety first? You’ll enforce safe crane operations and all safety rules.
• Can you grow others? You’ll mentor junior mechanics toward expertise and confidence.

In this role you will

• Delegate intelligently based on skill sets and accountability.
• Coordinate material flow to support a reliable production schedule.
• Keep metrics current and drive the team to meet or exceed shift goals.
• Uphold quality and process standards; counsel when safety/quality/productivity fall short.
• Support Skills Matrix training for all employees and assist with quarterly objectives and annual reviews.
• Lead/complete detailed accident investigations for Assembly incidents on your shift.
• Provide coverage for other shifts as needed and act as the Team Lead back-up.
• Champion 5S, LEAN principles, sustainability (waste, energy, water), and innovation.
• Perform other duties as assigned, exercising independent judgment while supervising the team.

What you bring

• Hands-on supervisory experience in manufacturing; strong leadership, delegation, and follow-through.
• Independent thinker with sound judgment and a bias for action.
• A track record of fostering teamwork and leading small groups to results.
• Ability to mentor junior mechanics and communicate clearly across levels.
• Comfort with schedules, BAC product models/parts, and the plant IPI process.
• Training/certification to operate overhead and JIB cranes.
• Excellent English communication—clear documentation, concise emails, and confident presentations.
• Lean mindset; familiarity with ISO procedures and quality instructions.
• Tech savvy with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and SAP; Excel capability to update data and generate metrics from prebuilt sheets.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and create engineering change requests.

Core proficiency: Supervisory Experience and experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk up to 80% of the time. Employee will also be required to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, sit and reach on a regular basis during a normal working shift This position requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposures include elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing environment, fluctuations in temperature ambient conditions as well as intermittent exposure to the weather in and about the yard and dock areas. Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week. Some weekend overtime is to be expected.

The noise level in the work environment is usually high and hearing protection is required. Eye protection, gloves, hearing protection and safety shoes must be worn at all times. Good plant safety practices will be required. Individual will be working in an environment that includes occasional exposure to the elements, inclement weather, working in confined spaces, and heights.
