Location: Elgin, IL

A day in this role

You start your shift with a quick walk-through of the production floor, prioritizing preventive maintenance checks to keep lines running smoothly. When an unexpected fault light pops on, you move fast—isolating the issue, applying Lockout/Tagout, diagnosing mechanical or pneumatic causes, and restoring operation to minimize downtime. Between calls, you assist with a planned changeover, fine-tune a sensor during a line setup, and capture accurate notes in the maintenance log. Safety, GMP, and regulatory standards guide everything you do.

Key responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems (motors, sensors, switches)
Execute preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime
Support equipment installs, changeovers, and production line setups
Maintain precise maintenance documentation and records
Comply with all safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements, including LOTO

Qualifications

3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting
Proven mechanical troubleshooting ability
Basic electrical understanding (motors, sensors, switches)
Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred

Work environment & physical demands

Manufacturing and warehouse environment
Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling; lift up to 50 lbs
PPE required
Overtime and weekend work may be required
