The ideal candidate will have 35 years of accounting experience, strong working knowledge of the general ledger, and hands-on experience preparing monthly financial statements, including PLs and balance sheets. This role is essential in helping ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance within our financial processes./ppThe Municipal Accountant will work closely with finance leadership to support month-end close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and analysis that guide decision-making across the organization./ph3Responsibilities/h3pstrongFinancial Reporting Analysis/strong/pulliPrepare monthly profit and loss (PL) statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports./liliAssist with preparation and analysis of budget-to-actual variance reports./liliSupport quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements./li/ulpstrongGeneral Ledger Month-End Close/strong/pulliPerform general ledger entries, journal postings, and account reconciliations./liliMaintain accurate and timely financial records following municipal accounting standards./liliAssist with month-end and year-end closing activities./li/ulpstrongReconciliations Compliance/strong/pulliComplete bank, asset, liability, and expense reconciliations./liliEnsure compliance with accounting policies, municipal regulations, and audit requirements./liliSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation./li/ulpstrongData Management Excel Reporting/strong/pulliCreate and maintain detailed financial reports using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools./liliCompile, validate, and analyze financial data for management review./li/ulpstrongOperational Support/strong/pulliAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis./liliCollaborate with department leaders to ensure financial accuracy and alignment./liliContribute to process improvements and financial system enhancements./li/ulpstrongQualifications/strong/pulliBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field./lili35 years of accounting experience, preferably in municipal, government, or public sector environments./liliStrong general ledger knowledge and experience with month-end close./liliProficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data validation)./liliExperience preparing monthly PLs and balance sheets./liliKnowledge of governmental accounting standards (GASB) preferred./liliStrong analytical skills and attention to detail./liliAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines./liliExcellent communication and teamwork skills./li/ulpInframark is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
