Family Care Coordinator What You’ll Do Coordinate and evaluate hospital referrals to identify potential organ/tissue donors, apply policies, obtain consent, and manage case transitions 24/7 with frequent travel. Key Responsibilities Participate in FCC call schedule and coordinate with vascular staff. Referrals: evaluate after brain death declaration or planned testing, determine suitability, verify next‑of‑kin, notify first‑call vascular coordinator, complete physical assessment, review charts, discuss with hospital personnel, plan family discussions, obtain authorization. Post‑authorization: offer information, notify coordinators, introduce lead vascular coordinator, provide follow‑up with family and liaison, co‑sign family letters. Case initiation: start donor chart, order tests, obtain blood for serology and HLA typing. Who You Are Passionate about helping others. Strong verbal communication skills. Available for 24/7 call rotations and emergency call coverage. Comfortable with regular automobile or air travel. Valid driver’s license with good record.
