Department 36127 Atrium Health Cabarrus - Child Advocacy Center Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 40 Schedule Details / Additional Information Full time - 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, 8a-5p Must be willing to travel to multiple locations Pay Range $47.50 - $71.25 Overview Atrium Health Levine Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) advocate for abused children in our community. The CAC team includes RNs, medical providers, victim advocates, forensic interviewers, and office personnel, and works closely with law enforcement, mental health, the District Attorney’s office, and Child Protective Services to ensure abused children have a voice. The Nurse Manager leads the medical and nursing operations within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and support victims of child abuse, oversee forensic medical exams, supervise staff, manage center policies, and collaborate with law enforcement and social services. Key Responsibilities Assist leadership with departmental budget management, grant reporting, and medical billing oversight. Provide operational oversight for four Child Advocacy Centers, maintaining a consistent on‑site presence at each location. Obtain and maintain training as a Family Advocate and Forensic Interviewer to support multidisciplinary teams. Serve as the primary lead for grant management at Jeff Gordon Child Advocacy Center. Develop and maintain clinical protocols, infection control guidelines, and medical procedures aligned with state statutes and National Children’s Alliance standards and accreditation. Supervise clinic staff and care coordinators, including hiring, training, and performance management. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) case reviews and team building, ensuring clear communication of medical findings to law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, and others as defined by protocol. Provide medical or forensic nursing testimony and/or advocacy in court proceedings as required. Promote and ensure delivery of trauma‑informed, culturally competent care for vulnerable children and their non‑offending caregivers. Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers. Essential Functions Continuously demonstrate and support a Professional Practice model that allows nurses to work in collaboration with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high‑quality patient outcomes. Ensure unit operations and employees comply with the Nursing Practice Act, regulatory agency standards, and policies and procedures. Act as a team member to accomplish goals and objectives of the unit and organization, upholding quality management, patient care, and departmental standards. Assume responsibility in the recruitment and retention of qualified staff and ensure appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development of personnel through goal setting and performance evaluation. Delegate effectively by promoting shared governance, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes. Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administer medications as necessary. Provide and assess effectiveness of patient and family education. Participate with performance improvement activities to improve quality of nursing care, promote patient outcomes, and provide a cost‑effective environment for patient care. Assist in development of policies, procedures, and standards reflective of evidence‑based practice. Promote shared accountability for professional practice. Allocate resources to meet the unit needs; oversee budget and maintain a cost‑effective unit. Physical Requirements Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support a weight of 35 pounds for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English fluently. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, finger dexterity, critical thinking, and ability to concentrate. Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit/department conditions. Education, Experience and Certifications Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in appropriate state. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred; if undergraduate degree is BSN, a Master’s Degree from a health‑related program or MBA is acceptable. Previous management experience preferred. BLS required. Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within one year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.
