Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive/Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience License: Active Registered Nurse license in Kentucky Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Two years of acute care RN experience - Two years of EPIC experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes their own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: - Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. - Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. - Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. - Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. - Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. - Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patient/family. - Monitors and documents the response to clinical interventions. - Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. - Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. - Functions as a mentor/preceptor. - Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. - Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. - Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. - Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. - Participates in the Practice Governance model.
