Senior Staff Accountant

Opportunity We’re hiring a Senior Staff Accountant who enjoys variety, a mix of tax preparation and accounting projects that make a real difference for clients. In this role, you’ll spend most of your time preparing tax returns in ProConnect , and the rest supporting monthly bookkeeping clients, handling clean, organized financials and special projects that make tax time simple and help clients stay financially confident year‑round. You’ll work closely with firm leadership, contribute to improving systems, and be part of a culture that invests in people – not just output. What You’ll Do Tax Preparation (≈75% of the time) Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns in ProConnect, ensuring filings are accurate, compliant and delivered on schedule Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and gather information Research complex tax issues when needed and document findings clearly Accounting & Bookkeeping Projects (≈25% of the time) Manage ongoing bookkeeping relationships with small‑business clients Review financial data and send out financial statements Handle prior‑year catch‑ups, data corrections, and supporting schedules Collaborate with leadership and teammates to streamline systems and processes Participate in weekly EOS meetings where your ideas drive improvements and deliver excellence Help shape how we serve clients and strengthen operations What You Bring 2+ years of public accounting experience 2+ years’ experience preparing tax returns in ProConnect (or equivalent tax software) Solid bookkeeping and accounting knowledge with QBO, reconciliations, journal entries Experience with our tech stack: ProConnect, QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Bill.com Excellent communication and relationship skills with clients and colleagues Calm under deadlines, organized, and self‑motivated Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities throughout the year A mindset of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning Why You’ll Love Working Here Coaching & mentorship culture: we don’t just fix mistakes, we help you grow Quarterly one‑on‑ones: personalized development goals and progress check‑ins Collaborative EOS structure: you’ll have a voice in how we work Remote‑first flexibility: work anywhere in the U.S., with core hours 9–3 CT Professional development support: training, continuing education, and CPA assistance Thoughtful workload: balanced busy seasons and genuine respect for personal time Our Core Values Transparency : Being proactively candid Humility : Not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less Excellence : Fast, accurate, consistent, and timely Ownership : Taking responsibility and ensuring work crosses the finish line Growth : Personal and professional growth, every quarter Additional Information Employment Type: Full-time, W‑2 Location: Fully remote within the U.S. Compensation: $60‑$65K, salary commensurate with experience, paid holidays, PTO, benefits, 401K and professional development support We know the right fit matters - if you value ownership, accuracy, and collaboration, you’ll thrive here.
