Job Description

The Behavioral Services Therapist provides evidence-based care in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position involves delivering individual, conjoint, group, and family psychotherapy services to clients with varying clinical needs. The therapist responds to crisis intervention situations as needed and maintains a commitment to ensuring that all care delivered is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. The therapist collaborates with team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, maintains accurate clinical documentation, and participates in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development. Additionally, the therapist adheres to all ethical standards and regulatory requirements governing the practice of counseling and mental health treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling from a nationally or regionally-accredited institute of higher education
• Completion of an internship as part of degree program
• Coursework in human behavior and development, effective counseling strategies, ethical practice, and pertinent core knowledge areas
• Minimum of 3,000 hours of post-master's degree supervised clinical experience completed within two years

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

 

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
