Technical Scrum Master / Delivery Lead

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or Technical Project Manager in software engineering, including direct ownership of release management processes
• Technical literacy in CI/CD pipelines, API contracts, SQL, and cloud terminology
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps boards, dashboards, and queries, as well as GitHub
• Experience managing release lifecycles, including INT, CERT, and PROD environment promotion, code freezes, and rollback procedures
• Experience with enterprise change management processes and tools, including ServiceNow, CAB, CR/CHG/CRQ, and PRR
• Experience with SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks, including PI Planning
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical complexity through clear status updates and risk assessments for non-technical stakeholders
• Experience advancing engineering quality practices, including automated testing, code coverage standards, and release gate enforcement in teams with varying levels of test maturity
• Ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) that identifies systemic issues beyond immediate causes and drives preventive actions
• Familiarity with reviewing pull request metrics and branching practices

• Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Maintain the squad backlog in Azure DevOps, including clear acceptance criteria, dependencies, and technical context
• Track, improve, and communicate delivery metrics such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time
• Track and report release metrics, including deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery (MTTR)
• Own the release calendar and change documentation
• Manage the end-to-end release process, including code freezes, regression windows, go/no-go checkpoints, rollback plans, and promotion through INT, CERT, and PROD environments
• Enforce release gates for regression testing, code quality and security scans, test coverage, and traceability
• Use and coordinate release evidence across tools and processes such as SonarQube, Veracode, repositories, pipelines, and test records
• Lead the root cause analysis process for production incidents
• Identify and escalate technical risks, including upstream delays, environment issues, API-breaking changes, and pipeline failures
• Facilitate SAFe activities such as PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, and Scrum of Scrums, and align squad work with PI objectives
• Encourage adoption of unit, integration, and API contract testing
• Track technology modernization and technical debt, keeping both visible and appropriately prioritized in the backlog
• Coach team members in agile principles, self-organization, and sustainable work practices
• Protect the squad from external disruptions and scope creep
• Maintain release audit records, including release notes, deployment records, and incident postmortems
• Monitor post-deployment health using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Splunk
