Overview Electrician (Journeyman) Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt | W-2 TEMP HIRE Project-Funded Location: Saipan, CNMI | On-site at assigned congregate shelter sites Compensation: $40.00/hour direct rate; overtime per CNMI Wage and Hour Act (4 CMC §9221); DBA + CNMI Workers’ Compensation coverage at no cost to employee TEMP HIRE — W-2 Project-Funded: This is a project-funded W-2 TEMP HIRE position recruited under Stafford Act §307 local hire authority (42 U.S.C. §5150) for direct-customer ROM engagements. Period of performance is bound to the specific engagement (currently CNMI EOC Shelter Wrap-Around Services, FEMA-3645-EM, with 60-day base plus 180-day option at customer election). CNMI residency required throughout employment. This is not a permanent position. The Role PSCG is hiring a journeyman-level Electrician to join our CNMI shelter operations team. You will perform electrical maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and minor alteration work across seven active congregate shelter sites supporting the Super Typhoon Sinlaku response. You will work under direction of our QC/QA Lead and Site Supervisors, with backup subcontract resources available for specialty work and surge capacity. This is direct community recovery work — your skills will keep CNMI residents safely sheltered during a critical recovery period. What You’ll Do Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including panels, branch circuits, lighting, GFCI outlets, and switchgear at assigned shelter sites. Perform generator interconnect work and verify transfer-switch operation; coordinate with the Generator Technician on power continuity. Document electrical condition baselines at site walks and update repair records throughout the engagement. Maintain NFPA 70E electrical safety log; flag any hazardous condition requiring shutdown to Site Supervisor and QC/QA Lead. Coordinate with backup subcontract electrician resources for specialty work outside scope or surge capacity needs. Maintain DCAA-compliant daily timesheets and support FEMA Public Assistance documentation per Program & Policy Guide v4.1. Comply with CNMI DPW licensing requirements (4 CMC §9201) and renew license as required during employment. Respond to emergency electrical calls during assigned on-call rotations; coordinate with Generator Technician and Site Supervisor on prioritization. What You Need High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship completion preferred. Three or more years of progressively responsible electrical work, preferably on commercial or institutional buildings. Current valid CNMI Department of Public Works Master or Journeyman Electrician license, OR eligibility to apply with willingness to work under licensed supervision pending issuance per 4 CMC §9201. OSHA 10-Hour General Industry within 14 days of hire (PSCG-provided at no cost). Current CNMI residency in support of Stafford Act §307 local hire preference (42 U.S.C. §5150). Valid CNMI driver license; ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and at active shelter sites with civilians present. Authorization to work in the United States; SAM.gov non-debarment confirmation. What We’d Also Like to See Post-disaster work experience (Yutu, Mangkhut, Soudelor, or comparable Pacific theater event). Active NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification. Familiarity with shelter operations, FEMA Public Assistance, or military post-disaster operations. Bilingual English / Chamorro / Carolinian. Generator interconnect experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, or Generac platforms. What We Offer Competitive hourly wage with overtime per CNMI Wage and Hour Act (4 CMC §9221).
