The role ensures professional, comprehensive services for all children in FES/TH and enforces policies and procedures specific to children and children’s services. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field plus two years of related experience (MSW preferred). Experience in management/development of services/programs specific to children, knowledge of homelessness causes and effects, and prior work with children in crisis or poverty are required. Knowledge of healthy child development and resource/referral proficiency is mandatory. Demonstrated ability in family needs assessment, accessing local resources, advocacy, counseling, and collaboration with local service providers. Commitment to the principles of the project. Excellent verbal and written communication, high organization, and creative problem‑solving skills. Valid driver’s license, liability insurance, personal automobile, and willingness to travel within the service area. Completion of required case management and Critical Time Intervention (CTI) training within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities Provide oversight for all programming specific to children within the facility. Facilitate assessments for children and coordinate referrals with ongoing follow‑up. Meet with each new family to ensure all basic and specific needs of new children are met and provide follow‑up as appropriate. Submit all internal and external reporting requirements accurately and on time. Act as liaison with families, CPS, and the court system for child‑related issues. Oversee documentation related specifically to children (CPS Log Sheet, case notes, incident reports, etc.) and ensure compliance with CRR standards. Schedule and coordinate resources for all children’s activities, communicating information to staff. Supervise volunteer groups providing services or activities for children, collaborating with the Community Engagement Coordinator. Collaborate with external agency partners (Metro United Way, JCPS, Wayside, etc.) and oversee partner services/programming. Assist the Senior Director of Housing Services in accessing new partnerships and funding for children’s services and new initiatives. Develop policies and procedures specific to children’s services in partnership with the residential homeless team. Manage budget line items for children’s services/programs, collaborating with the residential homeless team. Provide individual and group parenting mentoring/life skills with the Clinical Coordinator and residential homeless team. Perform PQI duties as assigned by supervision and PQI committee. Provide direct supervision to other staff as assigned (if funded). Assist in developing in‑house programming for residents with the Professional Team. Respond to shelter emergencies as needed. Assist in ongoing evaluation and development of shelter operations, including a program strategic plan with the residential homeless team. Assist in ensuring continuing agency accreditation and high provision of quality services. Assist the Senior Director in responding to External Relations requests. Other duties as assigned.
