Payroll Specialist (Healthcare)
Location: Tacoma, WA
Type: Contract
Overview:
Seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a healthcare workforce in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state or multi-location healthcare workforce
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, shift differentials, and deductions
• Manage payroll taxes and assist with quarterly and year-end reporting
• Administer employee deductions including benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions
• Maintain compliance with federal, state (WA), and healthcare-specific payroll regulations
• Support onboarding and employee record updates within payroll/HR systems
• Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with HR, Finance, and department leaders to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of payroll experience (healthcare, hospital, or clinic environment)
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
• Experience processing payroll for hourly, shift-based, or union employees preferred
• Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Kronos, or similar)
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze payroll data
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
