Staff Data Engineer

Position Summary Caremark, LLC., a CVS Health company, is hiring for a Staff Data Engineer in Woonsocket, RI. The role involves developing, building, and managing large-scale data structures, pipelines, and ETL workflows to support business applications. Responsibilities Develop large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs. Write ETL processes and design database systems and tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing. Collaborate with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Test and maintain systems and troubleshoot malfunctions. Leverage Hadoop architecture knowledge, including HDFS commands, to build data pipelines. Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from a variety of sources and ensure adherence to data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to complex business problems. Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case. Telecommuting available. Multiple positions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience. Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Requirement analysis, including design and development of end‑to‑end solutions, implementation and maintenance of software applications. Design and development of large‑scale, high‑volume, and high‑performance data structures. CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or DevOps. Cloud technologies: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Programming in Java, Python, or R. SAS or SQL programming languages. Databases: Oracle, Teradata, or DB2. Spark, PySpark, or Scala. Hadoop architecture or HDFS commands. Hadoop and Hive. Unix, Linux, or Shell scripting. Big data implementation. Pay Range $179,296.00/year to $213,210.00/year.
