This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Reimbursement Manager based in the United States.

This role plays a critical part in helping patients access innovative therapies by addressing complex reimbursement and coverage challenges. You will serve as a trusted reimbursement and access expert across a territory covering Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Working directly with healthcare providers, office staff, specialty pharmacies, and patient support teams, you will help remove barriers throughout the access journey. The position combines customer engagement, strategic problem-solving, payer expertise, and close collaboration with commercial and cross-functional teams. You will identify reimbursement obstacles, develop tailored access solutions, and help ensure patients can receive therapy as efficiently as possible. This is a highly visible, field-based position requiring significant travel and strong relationship-building skills. The role offers the opportunity to directly influence patient access while supporting the successful launch and adoption of specialty therapies.

Accountabilities:

As a Field Reimbursement Manager, you will act as the reimbursement and access subject-matter expert for your territory, partnering with healthcare providers, internal teams, specialty pharmacies, and patient support organizations to resolve access challenges and improve the patient experience.

• Serve as the reimbursement and market access expert for the assigned territory.
• Maintain a strong understanding of managed care accounts, including geographic influence, payer mix, product coverage, reimbursement criteria, and utilization management policies.
• Educate healthcare providers and office staff on prior authorization requirements, coverage status, payer appeals, alternative funding options, and related processes and timelines.
• Provide ongoing access education and personalized issue resolution to healthcare professionals and their staff.
• Act as a liaison between sales representatives and key external customers.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with healthcare professionals, office stakeholders, health systems, and other access decision-makers.
• Help customers navigate the complexities of specialty pharmacy distribution and reimbursement.
• Partner closely with specialty pharmacy case management teams to support accurate coverage determinations and efficient processing of patient enrollments.
• Work with sales teams and patient support partners to identify accounts experiencing reimbursement challenges and patients facing delays due to insurance-related issues.
• Develop and implement creative, compliant solutions to address individual patient and healthcare system access barriers.
• Conduct strategic analyses to identify reimbursement issues, opportunities, and territory priorities.
• Develop business plans and access strategies based on market insights and customer needs.
• Attend relevant conferences and customer meetings and travel with sales and regional colleagues to engage key providers and influencers.
• Travel extensively within the assigned territory, with travel expected to reach approximately 70% of working time.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines extensive pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience with deep expertise in reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, payer policies, and patient access. Strong commercial awareness, regulatory knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders are essential for success in this role.

• Bachelor's degree or higher and 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Significant experience with biotech drug distribution across specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies, and hospital systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of coverage and reimbursement requirements for oral and injectable therapies.
• Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations and third-party patient support services.
• Deep understanding of payer and PBM utilization management strategies for new therapies, including new-to-market blocks and exclusion lists.
• Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance, patient confidentiality, reimbursement, and patient access requirements.
• Understanding of laws and regulations governing the protection of patient-identifying information and access-related programs.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical contracting and pricing regulations.
• Experience managing long-term enterprise-level relationships and supporting complex contract negotiations and contract pull-through.
• Strong understanding of OIG and FDA regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing, as well as the PhRMA Code.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering across commercial, medical, clinical, and external stakeholder groups.
• Demonstrated self-motivation, urgency, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in changing environments.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and credibly with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Experience launching oral specialty drugs is highly valued.
• Rare disease experience is a plus.
• Experience across additional commercial functions such as marketing, market access, sales, insights, or analytics is advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including up to approximately 70% of the time.

Benefits:

• Base salary range of $185,000–$215,000 USD.
• Compensation determined based on relevant skills and experience, job location, internal equity, and other factors.
