Software Engineer

Purpose: Provide support for and improvements to the cold end host system and associated MMI programs. Assist with other improvement projects or issue resolution in the cold end as required.Essential Functions:Monitor and maintain hardware used to run and display wareroom host programs.Assess hardware viability and manage obsolescence replacements and upgrades as necessary.Troubleshoot issues that arise from the host line control programManage and communicate changes to the host line control programs and MMIDevelop changes (bug fixes and improvements) in the host line control programs keeping in mind performance, scalability, reliability, security and cost.Develop and maintain the ability to see historical data from the host and associated PLCs for troubleshooting or improvement purposesConfigure, maintain and troubleshoot communications between line PLCs, host line control software and data retention software.Monitor, troubleshoot and improve interfaces with external systems (ERS, FIS etc)Ability to accurately assess customer needs and translate them into innovative solutionsProactively provide solutions to operator and leadership team issuesProvide support and troubleshooting to AGNA sites as neededAbility to travel up to 25% of the time to provide support to other AGNA and Solar facilitiesAbility to keep multiple projects moving forward and organized via source code version controlProgramming changes must be portable and common between AGNA lines.Develop and maintain system documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, test plans, and user manuals.Collaborate with engineering teams (e.g., software, hardware, electrical) to ensure system compatibility and integration.Stay up to date with the latest systems engineering methodologies and technologiesRollout improvements across all AGNA lines as applicable.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this job.
