Business Development Representative (BDR)

Hybrid | Full-Time | Specialty Underwriters Group | $60,000 - $70,000

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to drive profitable growth across house accounts and Territory Sales Manager portfolios. This is an excellent opportunity for a retail agency agent or CSR ready to transition into the wholesale side of the insurance industry — working directly with independent agencies rather than policyholders. You will also provide home office support to our Territory Sales Managers.

 

Only candidates with prior or current personal lines P&C insurance experience will qualify and be considered for this position. Please do not apply if you do not meet this criteria.

 

About the Role

• Manage agency on-boarding, appointments, and setup
• Provide sales and operational support to Territory Sales Managers
• Re-engage low- and zero-producing agencies to drive growth
• Analyze monthly production reports for trends and opportunities
• Conduct virtual training sessions on platforms and products
• Promote carrier incentives, product launches, and campaigns
• Serve as primary account manager for House Accounts
• Assist with quoting, service requests, and inbound support

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of insurance industry experience (PL or specialty markets preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to build rapport by phone and in virtual environments
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Analytical understanding of coverage and underwriting guidelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel a plus)

Compensation Package

• $60,000 - $70,000 Based on experience
