Life Sciences Patent Attorney (Litigation & Prosecution) – Contract Location: Fully Remote Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40+ hours/week Duration: Ongoing Project Base pay range $200.00/hr - $240.00/hr Key Responsibilities Develop case strategies for complex life sciences patent disputes. Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses. Analyze patents, prior art, technical records, and expert reports to prepare for depositions and trial. Prepare witnesses and collaborate with scientific experts to align testimony with case objectives. Manage document review and production to meet court deadlines. Conduct in-depth legal and technical research to support litigation positions. Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in life sciences technologies. Prepare responses to USPTO office actions, including complex rejections. Conduct freedom‑to‑operate analyses, patentability assessments, and portfolio management. Work with R&D teams to translate complex scientific concepts into strong, defensible claims. Coordinate with foreign counsel for international filings and prosecutions. Case Management & Reporting Oversee high‑volume reporting to clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage case timelines, budgets, and deliverables in collaboration with partners. Act as a primary point of contact for clients and team members. Maintain organized matter files, docketing, and document management systems. Qualifications JD and PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline (molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc.). Extensive experience in both patent litigation and prosecution. Proven track record of managing multiple complex matters simultaneously. Strong knowledge of USPTO and federal court procedures. Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and research skills. Ability to excel in a high‑volume, fast‑paced work environment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset. Why This Role Fully remote flexibility with a Monday–Friday schedule.
