Job Description:


The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing financial information, researching discrepancies, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting the month-end closing process. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

• Examine cash and financial reports to identify discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
• Investigate outstanding accounting issues and ensure corrections are properly completed and documented.
• Manage accounting-related service requests through resolution and closure.
• Track store-level reporting to ensure all required items are completed before the monthly financial close.
• Prepare and record journal entries when required.
• Coordinate with various accounting and operational departments to research transactions and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Communicate with field leadership and operational personnel to gather information and address accounting-related questions.
• Analyze financial data and investigate unusual or inconsistent activity.
• Maintain organized documentation supporting accounting adjustments and resolutions.
• Assist with month-end activities and other accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• 0-1 years of experience in accounting related role preferred.
• Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research issues and follow through until resolution.
• Comfortable collaborating with multiple departments and levels of an organization.
• Previous experience in accounting, reconciliation, financial operations, or a related field is preferred.
