As a Project Manager, you will oversee electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through commissioning and final closeout. You will collaborate closely with clients, general contractors, field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal support teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position will initially support a major data center project in the Phoenix metropolitan area and will also support future data center, mission critical, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and other complex electrical projects throughout Arizona and the surrounding region. The salary range is $85,000.00 to $175,000.00. The posted salary range reflects compensation for different levels of responsibility and experience. Provide direction and leadership to Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and craft personnel. Promote and ensure safe work practices and conditions throughout all assigned projects. Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, manpower plans, and cash flow. Track project progress against established goals, schedules, budgets, and contractual requirements. Monitor labor productivity, material costs, equipment usage, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses. Ensure monthly cost projections, accruals, billings, and financial reports are accurate and completed on time. Manage all project change orders, including identification, documentation, pricing, negotiation, approval, and tracking. Manage the Request for Information process by preparing, submitting, tracking, and resolving RFIs to obtain timely clarification of design, scope, and construction issues. Coordinate and attend project kickoff, planning, design, coordination, safety, and progress meetings. Coordinate project activities with customers, owners, general contractors, design teams, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades. Review contracts, plans, specifications, schedules, submittals, equipment requirements, and other project documents. Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, schedule risks, long lead material requirements, and potential cost impacts. Review and coordinate project submittals and monitor procurement, fabrication, and delivery schedules for major electrical equipment and materials. Maintain complete and accurate project records, including contracts, correspondence, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and cost documentation. Maintain current approved construction documents and communicate changes to the appropriate project and field personnel. Work closely with field leadership to develop manpower plans, establish appropriate field leadership to crew ratios, and support productive field operations. Inspect project sites and monitor ongoing work for safety, quality, schedule compliance, and adherence to contract requirements. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and support future business development opportunities. Perform other project management duties as assigned. Education, Skills, Experience Needed: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant electrical construction experience. Five or more years of progressive project management experience in electrical construction or major infrastructure projects. Experience managing data center, mission critical, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, semiconductor, or other complex electrical construction projects is preferred. Experience with large scale electrical systems, including medium voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, battery systems, secondary distribution, and critical power infrastructure, is strongly preferred. Knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, equipment, sequencing, and applicable codes. Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, labor productivity, change orders, procurement, subcontractors, and customer relationships. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Experience with ground up construction projects and coordination with general contractors and other trades. Experience working in a union electrical construction environment is beneficial but not required. Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. Experience with construction management software such as Procore is preferred. Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced construction environment. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, building strong relationships with project stakeholders, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Proven success by contributing to cross-functional teams by communicating clearly, supporting shared goals, resolving challenges professionally, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork to deliver successful project outcomes. Excellent communication, leadership, team building, and problem solving skills. Ability to clearly and professionally communicate project information, risks, problems, and recommended solutions. PMP certification is preferred but not required. OSHA safety training is preferred. Ability to travel to project locations as required. This job description is subject to change at any time.
