This position is primarily remote, which allows for flexibility while engaging with families in their natural environments. Key Responsibilities\n

The core responsibilities of the LMFT include but are not limited to:

• Facilitating individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions in an outpatient setting to address dynamic family needs and therapeutic goals.
\n
• Implementing evidence-based strategies focused on anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development, thereby reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Guiding parents and caregivers in enhancing decision-making abilities to navigate in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborating seamlessly with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for both children and their families.
\n
• Managing documentation responsibilities efficiently, which includes timely submission of intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes as per organizational guidelines.
\n
• Participating in monthly team meetings to provide insights and recommend strategies for continuous improvement in service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The position primarily focuses on serving a diverse group of children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapists will work closely with families, providing them with the tools and strategies to cope with challenges associated with these disabilities. Your empathetic approach and specialized skills are vital in fostering resilience and positive transformations within these families.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license valid in the state of Maryland.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, with weekend flexibility being a plus.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support in clinical settings.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for traveling to client locations.
\n
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences will be advantageous:

• Previous experience in working with children aged 3-20, particularly with those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) as well as their families.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese, which will enhance communication with eligible clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
