Commercial Pricing Strategist Reporting To: Negotiator, Group Work Schedule: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY Location: East Aurora, NY (hybrid) Role Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented and skilled Commercial Pricing Strategist to join our team. You will develop and enable data‑driven pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness, regulatory requirements, and margin objectives, while influencing cross‑functional teams to execute those strategies and support day‑to‑day commercial pricing decisions. Responsibilities Help shape and operationalize the commercial pricing strategy, partnering with cross‑functional leadership to move pricing from reactive decision‑making to a deliberate, market‑driven approach. Lead through influence to execute pricing strategy, applying an 80/20 mindset to focus effort on the highest‑value opportunities while enabling scalable, repeatable pricing decisions. Support day‑to‑day commercial pricing needs, balancing strategic initiatives with near‑term deal support to ensure responsiveness without sacrificing long‑term objectives. Develop and execute commercial pricing strategies for a portfolio of products and offerings across targeted customer segments and end markets. Conduct market and competitive analysis to understand customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and geographic pricing variations, translating insights into actionable pricing recommendations. Analyze government and public‑sector pricing requirements for complex proposals, ensuring pricing strategies are compliant with applicable regulatory standards while remaining competitive. Build and maintain advanced financial models to evaluate pricing scenarios, margin impact, elasticity, and trade‑offs between competitiveness and profitability. Serve as a trusted business partner to Sales, Finance, and Business Leadership, helping drive pricing discipline, improve win rates, and enhance margin realization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum seven years of proven experience in pricing, commercial strategy, finance, or related analytical roles. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and pricing analytics. Strong strategic thinking skills with a market‑oriented, customer‑focused mindset. Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and align stakeholders around pricing decisions. Comfort operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments while balancing strategic and tactical demands. Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting pricing for government, regulated, or highly complex commercial environments. Exposure to value‑based pricing, segmentation strategies, or pricing transformation initiatives. Familiarity with Commerciality COE models or enterprise commercial excellence programs. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive‑level insights. Experience working with pricing tools, BI platforms, or ERP systems to support data‑driven decision‑making. Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA), or Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Salary Range Disclaimer: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
