The Mechanical Assembler plays a key role in assembling mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to technical specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
• Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to verify compliance with company and customer standards.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and report defects, malfunctions, or process concerns to supervisors.
• Measure and verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignments using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Maintain accurate production and assembly records, including quantities completed and issues encountered.
• Safely handle, move, and position materials, components, and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency and meet daily production goals.
• Support additional manufacturing and production activities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or a related industrial environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move materials as needed.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical certification in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
• Ability to learn new equipment, procedures, and assembly processes quickly.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small manufacturing facility with approximately 25 employees, creating a collaborative and close-knit team atmosphere. Work is performed on a consistent first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with optional overtime available on Saturdays.

The role involves working with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and manufacturing equipment in a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods, performing hands-on assembly work, and lifting or moving materials as part of daily responsibilities.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
