Economist or Finance Professional for AI Benchmarking

Role Overview
Develop and review rigorous academic assessment content that supports an AI research initiative. This remote role focuses on creating gold-standard multiple-choice benchmarks across specialized economics and finance topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete either question-authoring or question-verification assignments.
- For authoring work, create original, challenging multiple-choice questions within your area of expertise, assign a difficulty rating, and submit them for review.
- For verification work, assess pre-written questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, completeness, precision, and solvability; edit as needed and explain the changes made.
- Test deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall.
- Ensure every question is unambiguous, self-contained, and includes all information needed to solve it.
- Rate questions as Medium, introductory undergraduate; Hard, advanced undergraduate; or Expert, postgraduate and above.
- Provide one correct answer and nine plausible, subtly incorrect alternatives.
- Write clear, concise, step-by-step solutions in Markdown.
- Include one to five academic references per question from reputable sources, such as peer-reviewed journals or university repositories.
Subject Areas
Assignments may cover algorithmic trading and market microstructure, macroprudential policy, behavioral finance and experimental economics, urban economics, tokenomics, and decentralized finance.
Qualifications
- PhD or doctoral candidacy in economics, finance, or a closely related field.
- A master''s degree may be considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain.
- Strong knowledge of graduate-level economic theory, quantitative methods, and financial modeling.
- Academic research experience, CFA or CPA certification, or financial-industry expertise is a strong advantage.
- Excellent written English and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Work Terms
- Fully remote, asynchronous work.
- Expected commitment of at least 10 hours per week.
Compensation
Hourly compensation of $77 to $98.
