CARDIAC REGISTERED NURSE WITH ACLS CERTIFICATION - PART TIME

DUTIES:

• Under limited supervision, provides patient care within a broad range of health care needs in Cardiac Special Procedures
• Systematically and continuously collects, assesses, and documents data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care for the patient and family. Documentation of patient assessment and medical care will require basic computer skills to complete electronic medical records. Assist the physician in the performance of adult Cardiac Special Procedure tests; invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and skill of the moderate sedation process
• Implements safe, competent and efficient care to patients within the Cardiac Rehab Unit and deparmental policies, procedures and standards across a variety of populations and complexity of situations
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiovascular medications, pressors and anti-arrhythmic agents including dosing, side effects and drug interactions. Able to identify and manage adverse events or unanticated outcomes using critical thinking skills
• Demonstrates technical skills, trouble shooting skills and expert knowledge of equipment utilized by the Cardiac Rehab Unit
• Implements safe, competent and efficient care to patients within the Cardiac Rehab Unit and departmental policies, procedures and standards across a variety of populations and complexity of situations
• Assures that informed consent has been obtained on the patient and that all questions and concerns have been answered to the patient's satisfaction
• Works under the general direction of the Director of the Cardiac Rehab Unit. Coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care

EXPERIENCE:

• Registered Nurse with previous experience with cardiovascular patient care
• BLS and ACLS certification
