Facilities Maintenance Technician

Ensures the credit union facilities and grounds are maintained in excellent condition and provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment for members and staff.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance and repairs throughout CU facilities as assigned by Facilities Manager. 2. Manage small dollar contract agreements for recurring vendors including landscaping and snowplowing. Approve related invoices. 3. Respond to staff facilities-related requests as assigned by Facilities Manager. 4. Maintain system to provide adequate inventory of supplies and maintenance products at all buildings. Work with Facilities Manager to ensure best pricing and most streamlined system. 5. Follow safety standards which comply with NorthCountry, State and Federal guidelines. Complete facilities-related courses as identified by Facilities Manager. 6. Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, policies, procedures and appropriate software systems. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two-year college degree, OR (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, OR (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, OR (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills

Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance, for example, painting, simple plumbing and carpentry. Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Must be able to climb stairs and use a ladder.
