POSITION: Temporary .6FTE Billing Clerk- Health Services Department

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Health Services

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Processes dental and medical claims using computerized systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

High School diploma or GED.

Computer literate and efficient in Word, Excel, Access and necessary internet web-based sites.

Proficiency in rapidly and accurately entering data using a keyboard device.

Ability to establish and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with colleagues.

Proficiency in collecting & entering accurate data (Medicaid, etc.)

Comfort and ease in working within the dental sites.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Obtain accurate student insurance information and process according to departmental policy.

Verify eligibility according to departmental policy.

Track appropriate data for third party billing.

Process billing information by entering into database.

Assist with dental and medical department clerical needs. .

Other duties as assigned by Coordinator.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Secretaries. 2014-2015 Salary Grid (095-12): ($34,528-$46,322 = Full-time Equivalency). Twelve month work year. Position ends June 30, 2016.

Hartford Federation of School Secretaries (HFSS).
