Shop Technician

Position Overview and PurposeAre you an experienced technical guru that can repair anything? Do you thrive on making repairs right the first time? Do you plan out your work and think through important details before you start your work?The Shop Technician position exists to maintain and repair power generation equipment in a shop environment. This person will be responsible for maximizing equipment run time by performing maintenance as needed and ensuring that all equipment is always in proper working condition.ResponsibilitiesRepair, troubleshoot, maintain, and be responsible for run time, mechanical, and electrical systems of natural gas generatorsPreventative maintenance on generators (5.7L to 21.9L in engine size). Basic maintenance items include:Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filtersOverhead valve adjustmentsChecking batteriesWashing of radiatorsLoad bank testingRepair and maintenance of the following engine and electrical system components:Natural Gas Engine fuel systemsCooling systemsAir injection systems (turbos, manifolds, etc.)Generator control panel troubleshootingGenerator ends: diagnose 480V electrical output, check diodes, replace/tune automatic voltage regulatorsMaintain fit-for-duty status for each shiftMaintain a Safety-first culture that always ensures the protection and safety of Baseline employees and customers. This can include but is not limited to; attending customer safety meetings, auditing Field Service safety practices, frequently verifying that all work meets Baseline and customer standards, etc.Conduct work in accordance with company, customer, and industry safety standards to maintain an accident-free workplaceCommunicate professionally, efficiently, and frequently with customers (production foreman, pumpers, etc.) when issues ariseQualificationsMust be 21 years of age or olderMust be able to pass a background and drug screenGeneral knowledge of job safety and production flow in a shop environmentExperienced background or trade school preferredElectrical/generator troubleshooting & repairEngine overhaul is a plusSystematic troubleshooting/problem solving skillsBasic computer skillsMust have own hand tools (company provides specialty tools)Availability to work nights and weekends as neededBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceQuarterly bonusesAnnual boot allowance for all safety sensitive rolesCareer Advancement through Technical Training opportunities401(k) retirement plan with company matchCompetitive paid time off including 8 paid holidaysTeam Baseline Core ValuesLeadership: Plan frequently and set goals.
