Job Title: OR RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7a-3:30p Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs. Experienced RN will possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care. Ability to assess patients' needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects. Must recognize safety issues for self and others. Able to assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients safely. Must function well in stressful situations. Good, creative problem-solving skills are essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment in providing a safe and aseptic environment in an OR setting. Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills. License: Current NYS RN license Certifications: BLS required ACLS preferred Must-Have: On-call required with a response time of 30 minutes. Weekend, holiday, and call required.
