Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - Gastroenterology - $36-58 per hour

Job Title BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Gastroenterology Lead for a nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Gastroenterology Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Role Purpose Under the direction of the manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of the assigned unit as required. Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to interprofessional team as appropriate. Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and the patient, family, or caregiver. Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence‑based practices, participates in journal club, facilitates practice change based on new knowledge, and disseminates new knowledge from conferences or continuing education. Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice through community service, patient/family education, ethics advisory committees, adjunct faculty roles, or specialty organization leadership. Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Leads the evaluation of the patient and family experience and adjusts care to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Maintains constant state of alertness and works safely as a safety‑sensitive position requires.
