We look forward to hearing from you!**Position Summary:**Leads and assists shipping department workers with shipping activities.**Position Responsibilities:*** Keeps records on incoming shipments.* Monitors incoming shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.* Verifies accuracy of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.* Consults with management to clarify department priorities, identify problems, and suggest changes for improvement.* Determines shipping priorities and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.* Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.* Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.* Directs movement of shipments from shipping area to storage and/or work areas.* Compiles records of unfilled orders and posts weight and shipping charges.* Prepares required department records and reports.* Recommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.* Trains and assists workers in shipping and receiving activities.**Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:*** Proficiency in MS Office applications, strong Excel knowledge* Effective time management and organizational skills.* Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.* Able to work alone or with others to complete tasks.* Able to read/write English**Position Qualifications:****Education:*** HS graduate or equivalent required**Experience:*** 2+ years of experience in a warehouse environment using record keeping and internal computer systems to access and document shipping records preferred.**Work Environment and Physical Requirements:*** Production/Manufacturing environment.* Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time* Lifting up to 50 lbs. on regular basis* Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer***Disclaimer****: This list does not represent all physical demands.
