Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-procedure
• Support patient positioning and surgical site preparation (draping)
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and OR team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years' experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (i.e., GYN, General, and Plastics) is preferred.
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.) preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
