Job Description: Summary: The Power BI Analyst will be responsible for analyzing businessreporting needs; translating requirements into effective datavisualizations; and designing, developing, and maintaining Power BIreports and dashboards that support decision-making and definedbusiness outcomes. The incumbent will collaborate closely withbusiness stakeholders, BI Developers, Data Engineers, and SolutionArchitects to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, performant,and aligned with enterprise standards. This role is focused onvisualization, report development, and semantic model usage withinthe AU Business Intelligence ecosystem. Essential Functions: 1.) Requirements Analysis & Report Design Work with business units to understand reporting andvisualization needs, analyze requirements, and translate businessquestions into Power BI report designs and user-friendlydashboards. Participate in feasibility discussions and contributeto level-of-effort estimates for reporting solutions. 2.) Power BI Report & Dashboard Development Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meetdefined business outcomes, following established visualization,usability, and accessibility standards. Utilize certified datasetsand semantic models where available and collaborate with BI andSolution Architects to ensure optimal report performance andconsistency. Ensure accuracy, reliability, and data quality of allpublished BI products. 3.) Testing, Enhancement & Governance Compliance Support user acceptance testing and iterative enhancement ofPower BI reports by gathering feedback, addressing issues, andimplementing enhancements or bug fixes. Assess the impact ofrequested changes on timelines and scope and escalating risks orconflicts as appropriate. Ensure adherence to enterprise BIstandards, governance practices, and deployment processes. 4.) End-User Support, Documentation & Adoption Provide ongoing support for AU’s business intelligencesolutions, including report documentation, training materials,presentations, and one-on-one assistance to end users. Supporting Coworkers. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time. 35 hours per week. Work schedule and modality: This position works 35 hours perweek Monday through Friday with a one-hour lunch break in a hybridmodality with one day a month required to be in the office. After-hours availability: This position requires flexibility inthe employee’s work schedule as they must be reasonably availableto address production emergencies or critical incidents with thepotential for interrupted nights and weekends. Essential personnel designation: This position is expected tobe on call and available to address emergency IT issues. duringunplanned closures or emergencies. Leave blackout period: OIT staff are prohibited from takingnon-emergency leave during the three-week period at the start ofeach semester, this includes the week before the start of the Falland Spring term and the first two weeks of classes for the Fall andSpring term. Requests for support peak during these times andsystem availability is also critical, which requires all staffmembers to be working during these times. Salary Range: $37.25 per hour. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in business intelligence,analytics, or related roles. Demonstrated experience developing reports and dashboards usingMicrosoft Power BI. Experience working with enterprise data sources, includingrelational databases. Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1.) Technical Skills Strong understanding of Power BI semantic models and datamodeling concepts. Proficiency in reading and interpreting SQL. Experience with DAX and report performance optimizationtechniques. Understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousingconcepts. Familiarity with cloud analytics platforms (e.g., MicrosoftFabric, Azure). 2.) Analytics & Report Development Proven ability to translate business requirements intoeffective visual analytics and dashboards. Strong attention to data accuracy, quality, and validationpractices. Experience leveraging certified datasets and enterprisesemantic models. 3.) Governance & Delivery Understanding of enterprise BI governance practices, standards,and deployment processes. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) andchange management practices. Ability to assess impact of changes and manage competingpriorities. 4.) Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage bothtechnical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience facilitating requirements discussions andtranslating business needs into technical solutions. Ability to develop documentation, training materials, andsupport end-user adoption. 5.) Tool & Domain Exposure (Preferred) Experience with Workday reporting and/or higher education dataenvironments. Exposure to Salesforce reporting. Experience supporting user training, knowledge sharing, or BIadoption initiatives. 6.) Work Style Proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong problem-solvingskills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
