Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, seasoned Litigation, Estate, Trust, & Probate Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing complex civil litigation, probate court proceedings and estate administration files from start to finish. You will play a critical role in drafting pleadings, managing deadlines, and navigating local court procedures.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Probate & Estate Litigation Expertise: Proven track record of managing estate files, trusts, guardianships, and contested probate matters.
- Florida & New York State Form Proficiency: familiarity with current New York State probate and administration forms , including recent updates, which is a major plus.
- Surrogate's Court Knowledge: Experience navigating the Florida and New York State Surrogate's Court procedures and electronic filing systems ( NYSCEF ).
- Litigation Mastery: Strong experience drafting pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and trial preparation materials.
- File Management: Ability to independently organize, track, and advance a heavy caseload of estate files under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, beneficiaries, and court personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and file petitions, inventories, accountings, and notices required in Florida and New York State probate and estate administration.
- Conduct legal research and draft litigation documents for contested estate and trust matters.
- Maintain strict calendar control for all court deadlines, hearings, and filing dates.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, guiding them empathetically through the probate process.
- Coordinate with attorneys to prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials.
