Step into a rewarding contract position supporting middle school learners as a Special Education Teacher in a resource setting, working with students in grades 6-8. As a valued part of the educational team, you’ll make a meaningful difference for 28 students, providing targeted instruction and fostering growth within a collaborative school environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Preferable mild-moderate or learning disability certification
• Experience working with middle school-aged students, ideally grades 6-8
• Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction within a resource classroom for students with identified learning needs
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to monitor and support student progress
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, documenting progress and adjusting as necessary
• Foster a safe, structured, and engaging classroom that encourages student participation and growth
• Track and report on student achievement and compliance with state and federal guidelines

Position Details:

• Contract role supporting a middle school resource classroom
• Serving approximately 28 students spread across grades 6-8
• Full-time schedule: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday
• Immediate start date
