Step into a pivotal teaching role supporting exceptional learners in a close-knit elementary environment. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a tangible difference as one of three special education teachers at an elementary school, focusing on the extended resource/self-contained classroom. You’ll serve a diverse group of K4-5th grade students, some of whom will be with you full time, while others join for targeted ELA and math instruction.

You’ll work alongside a dedicated assistant and collaborate with teachers fulfilling co-teaching, inclusion, resource, and transition responsibilities, ensuring a holistic and supportive school experience for all students. The class consists of approximately 8-12 students, providing an environment where you can deliver individualized attention and watch your impact unfold daily.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
• Demonstrated experience with self-contained or resource settings highly preferred
• Strong instructional skills in both ELA and mathematics for grades K4-5th
• Ability to create inclusive, differentiated lesson plans for a range of learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to partner with colleagues and families
• Passion for empowering students with diverse needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver tailored instruction for students in both full-day and pull-out models
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with the team and families
• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom climate
• Supervise and collaborate effectively with your classroom assistant
• Track student progress and communicate updates clearly and regularly

This role begins July 17 and concludes June 2. You’ll play a crucial role in creating an inclusive educational atmosphere where each child’s growth is prioritized.
