BatcherThe batcher plays a key role in the production process by preparing, mixing, and transferring ingredients according to established recipes and schedules. This position ensures that each batch meets quality, safety, and consistency standards while maintaining accurate records and a clean, compliant work area.ResponsibilitiesRead and follow batch sheets, recipes, and production schedules to prepare batches according to specifications.Accurately weigh and measure both liquid and dry ingredients using appropriate tools and methods.Add raw materials into mixing tanks in the correct sequence and quantities as defined by formulas and procedures.Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and ingredient ratios to ensure product consistency and quality.Record batch information and production data clearly and accurately for traceability and reporting purposes.Conduct quality checks throughout the batching process, identifying and reporting any deviations or issues.Transfer finished batches safely and efficiently to filling lines for further processing and packaging.Maintain cleanliness of mixing equipment, tools, and production areas to support safe and efficient operations.Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and sanitation procedures at all times.Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment, collaborating with team members to meet daily output goals.Communicate any equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or process concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.Essential Skills2+ years of batching experience preferred, ideally in a production or manufacturing setting.Demonstrated experience with batching, blending, mixing, and batch mixer operations in a production environment.Ability to perform general labor tasks related to mixing, blending, and food production processes.Basic math and measurement skills to calculate, weigh, and measure ingredients accurately.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following recipes, recording data, and performing quality checks.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials safely throughout the shift.Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.Understanding of GMP, food safety, and sanitation procedures and willingness to follow them consistently.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience working in a food production environment.Experience with compounding and blending processes in manufacturing.Bilingual language skills are beneficial for communication on the production floor.Familiarity with recording production data and maintaining batch documentation.Ability to adapt to colder working conditions and remain focused and productive.Strong reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting production schedules.Why Work Here?You join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values collaboration and growth. The facility follows strict GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards, and you will work around mixing tanks, batch mixers, and related production equipment. Spanish is commonly spoken on the floor, and supervisors are bilingual, supporting clear communication among team members. Dress code is consistent with a food production setting, requiring practical, safety-conscious attire suitable for working around machinery and in cooler conditions.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Skokie, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
