Adjunct Instructor – Adult Echocardiography This position is a security‑sensitive role and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Position Summary Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous‑recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Winning applicants will be added to a pool from which the hiring manager may draw on an as‑needed basis when a need arises for the academic year. Required Education Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study; Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Associate degree plus ARDMS or CCI registration in adult echocardiography are minimum requirements. Copies of certificates/license must be submitted with application. Required Experience Three years full‑time clinical experience as an adult cardiac sonographer. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Preferred Experience Previous adult echocardiography or diagnostic medical sonography related teaching experience is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses. Mentor students in and outside of the classroom. Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, including face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual‑credit instruction. Adhere to College policies and procedures. Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications promptly. Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion. Maintain ethical and professional behavior. Be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings and assess courses at departmental and institutional levels. Complete required training and other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses. Ability to provide instruction that achieves specific goals and objectives. Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment. Effective communication with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups. Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, without discrimination. Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards using College time and resources.
