About the Position

The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:5. The unit deals with medical, surgical, medical telemetry, surgical telemetry, infusion, orthopedic, and neurosurgery cases. Weekend work is required, with every other weekend needed. No floating to sister facilities is permitted. Candidates must be flexible to meet unit needs. Nurses will float within the hospital's scope. There is no call requirement. The facility is a Magnet and Teaching Center with a Level 4 Trauma designation. The daily census averages 80 patients. Candidates must have experience in handling various patient diagnoses including medical, surgical, orthopedic, and oncology cases. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Nurses will utilize skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy, among others. Additional skills in telemetry, medication management, and wound care are also essential.
