Quality Auditor

Quality Assurance InspectorPosition Summary: Position is responsible for ensuring product meets Silgan, Slatersville customer specifications.Functions: Performs first piece inspection utilizing various inspection techniques and instruments. Performs activities in accordance with the quality plan and applicable quality, manufacturing, and safety procedures. Reports unusually high percent of defective parts. Performs in process audits to visual standards. Determines product conformance. If non-conforming, identifies inspection status and reviews prior production. Ensures conformance to molding line clearance and order packet information. Assists operators in training and development in areas of quality and decision-making. Maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear. Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal. When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.Requirement:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredSolid understanding of test equipmentMinimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experienceStrong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportionsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionallySpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and interpret informationAll employees are responsible for ensuring that quality issues arising from their own activities are managed according to the QMS, customer requirements, the quality policy and procedures, and good management practices.
