Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule

40 hours per week, with evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback duties as needed.

Assignment Details

Contract length and guaranteed hours will be discussed upon application.

Requirements

• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Experience in a large hospital (500 beds or more)
• Travel experience of at least 6 months
• Two professional references from previous experience

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans and trays.
• Operate and maintain sterilizers, checking time, pressure, and temperature gauges to ensure proper sterilization.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments following established procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Receive and store supplies, checking stock against requisitions, and maintaining inventory levels.
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on sterile supplies and instruments.
• Document critical information such as biological tests and sterilizer load sheets.
