Mechanical Technician IVOur client, a business manufacturing and supply company, is looking for a Mechanical Technician IV for their Newton, NC location.Responsibilities:Maintain safe work practices, inform others of hazardous conditions or personal practices as expressed on project teamManage installation and debugging activities to meet milestone & timeline objectives for successful capacity additionsDesign & implement mechanical solutions and process changes to improve capability of manufacturing equipment.Solve mechanical and process issues through data analysis, experience, and collaboration with subject matter expertsManage spare part identification and storeroom entry as recommended by suppliers or peer engineers; noting available spares within (2)-plant footprintDevelop and update engineering and operations documentationSupport training for operations workforce regarding equipment or operations changesPerform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery (e.g., pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.)Align, test, and calibrate mechanical systems after installationDiagnose complex mechanical failures and recommend effective solutionsInterpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and repair activitiesIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safetyCollaborate with other departments to implement process improvementsRequirements:Associates degree in relevant field (mechanical, technical, engineering)Years/ Area of Experience:At least 5 years' experience in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment; start-up experience a plusRelevant mechanical or industrial certifications (e.g., millwright, or welding) are a plusOSHA or other safety certifications may be requiredStrong technical fundamentals and mechanical engineering skillsExpertise in mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gear systems, and conveyor systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematicsAbility to learn new technology and processes quicklyStrong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced project install manufacturing environmentProficiency with PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentKnowledge of safety regulations and practices in an industrial settingAbility to work and effectively collaborate within a teamAbility to allocate/supervise resources to accomplish aggressive project milestones and timeline within specification and costAble to shift tasks quicklyAble to prioritize and multitaskStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenDetail oriented and able to perform with limited supervisionProject leadership/management experienceExperience in vendor/supplier management on-site/off-siteExperience with CADThe manager is seeking candidates with extensive 3D printing experience.
