Epworth Children & Family Services
Purpose Psychologists provide direct clinical services to Epworth Psychological Services clients. EPS is a community-based outpatient mental health clinic providing psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, and consultation to community members of all ages. Provisionally licensed Psychologists will work under the supervision of a licensed clinical Psychologist. Psychologists cultivate a healthy workplace environment by leading with cultural sensitivity and awareness, ensuring that program environments and colleagues are culturally diverse, competent and inclusive, fosters teamwork, promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement, values relationships with all stakeholders (clients, staff, partners), provides evidence informed approaches, participates in change efforts in support of Epworth’s continuous improvement of programmatic efforts, and diligently supports programmatic efforts to achieve maximum impact on client outcomes. This position demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision and values of the agency by engaging in respectful, cooperative relationships with customers (i.e. clients, employees and external stakeholders); being accountable for providing services and ensuring safety to customers while empowering customers in achieving the agency’s mission. Key Responsibilities Provide daily clinical services to meet the needs of clients, while supporting the ongoing mission of Epworth: Provide a full range of psychological evaluations and assessments (including, but not limited to: psychoeducational assessments, parenting competency assessments, psychosexual evaluations, vocational assessments, risk assessments, personality assessments, mental health screenings, and comprehensive evaluations) to children, adolescents, and adults. Administer, score, and interpret psychometric tests (including, but not limited to: cognitive/IQ tests, measures of achievement, objective/projective personality tests, and symptom/behavior rating scales). Prepare comprehensive reports including recommendations for intervention. Provide individual, couples, family, or group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, or adults as needed. Assist in generating referrals through outreach activities in the community. Support a culture of continuous quality improvement and fidelity of services within Epworth: Provide efficient, and high quality clinical services. Adhere to EPS policies and standard operating procedures. Follow best-practices and ensure clinical fidelity in the provision of services. Participate in staff development and training programs. Complete documentation, case records, and outcomes in accordance with EPS policy and state/federal regulations. Assist in preparation for all site visits and audits for all psychological services. Develop collaborative and cooperative internal relationships across Epworth programs in support of the agency’s mission. Participate in and support organization wide CQI initiatives. Participate in data driven discussions focused on program impacts and outcomes, utilization, incidents and best practices on a quarterly basis. Provide regular (at least weekly) coaching and supervision to EPS clinical interns in order to provide supports, enhance performance, and ensure progress towards Learning Objectives: Document supervision and coaching sessions. Provide timely, relevant and actionable feedback to address performance issues and support ongoing development and growth. Document performance issues and initiate performance improvement processes. Complete performance evaluations and communicate with interns’ academic programs about their progress. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide supervision to EPS’ clinical interns as needed. Education and/or Experience Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Missouri. Experience in the delivery of psychological evaluation and psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults, couples and families. Skill in developing and maintaining working relationships with staff, clients and community agencies. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals or psychological reports. Ability to write clinical case notes and psychological reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients. Reasoning Ability Analytical skills including the analysis of psychometric test results. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills E-mail, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The physical requirements of this job includes: sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs on a regular basis; lifting up to 25lbs, pulling and/or pushing on occasion. Work Environment Most of work is performed in an office setting. Some evenings and weekends may be required on an as needed basis. May need to travel into the community.
