Operations Assistant, CasualThe Operations Assistant, Casual performs a combination of clerical duties that require knowledge and application of various work methods and procedures. Responsibilities include typing or entering information into the computer to prepare correspondence, preparing, issuing and sending out receipts, bills, policies, invoices, statements and checks, issuing licenses, permits, certificates, writs, or other legal documents and/or titles, receiving and issuing receipts for payments on licenses, permits, certificates, bonds, service, etc, preparing envelops and packages for mailing, opening and routing incoming mail, answering correspondence and preparing outgoing mail, answering telephones, conveying messages and running errands, stamping or numbering forms by hand or machine and photocopying documents, proofreading records or forms, sorting and filing records and indexing records and information, tabulating and posting data in record books, transferring information from reports, coding numerically and posting to prepared code sheet, ledger or journal, counting, weighing, checking, analyzing, measuring and/or classifying material, adjusting complaints, conducting limited research, operating various office machines, maintaining a positive attitude in a highly intense environment, working in a team setting to accomplish departmental goals, and other duties and projects, as assigned.Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience in the transportation industry preferred, prior typing/data entry and clerical skills preferred, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to use various office machines. Shift days and hours required for this position vary by location and may include days, nights, and/or weekends. Being able to work the required hours at this location will be considered a minimum requirement. Competencies include decision making and critical thinking, initiative, managing multiple priorities, mentoring others, process management, service center operation and maintenance, transportation safety.Work hours may vary depending on service center location.
