Responsibilities Provide high‑quality personal care to assisted‑living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.The role includes clinical and medication administration and clinical support to the care team, focusing on resident‑centered care, team growth, and promotion of the assisted‑living philosophy and statutes. Working Environment The job is located at the Juneau Pioneer Home, 4675 Glacier Hwy, Juneau, Alaska. The community is nestled near Twin Lakes with views of the Gastineau Channel and surrounding wildlife. Qualifications Oral & Written Communication: Effective in communicating ideas to individuals or groups, adapting to technical or sensitive content, and listening to others. Medicine & Dentistry Knowledge: Understanding of diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and deformities, including preventive health‑care measures. Evidence‑Based Practice: Integrates best research practices with clinical expertise and patient values. Physical Strength & Agility: Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; can perform moderate‑heavy labor. Accountability: Holds self and others accountable for high‑quality, timely, cost‑effective results; sets priorities and delegates work. Licensure & Certifications A diploma or certificate from an accredited school in practical nursing and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse in the State of Alaska is required. Applicants with a temporary permit under 12 AAC 44.320 may begin duty, subject to proof of licensure within six months.
