Salary: $86,000 - 114,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline.
• We require at least five years of experience as a systems administrator or in a similar position, with a strong emphasis on Linux-based environments.
• We need deep knowledge of Linux distributions such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• We expect proficiency with shell scripting, especially Bash, and automation platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• We need solid understanding of networking fundamentals and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing.
• We require familiarity with web server administration and database management, such as Apache, Nginx, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• We expect knowledge of Linux security controls, including firewalls, user permissions, access management, and common threat mitigation.
• We need understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery practices for Linux systems.
• We value familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, along with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• We require knowledge of IT operations, data center controls, and storage area networks.
• We expect advanced troubleshooting skills for Linux systems, hardware issues, and network connectivity problems.
• We need the ability to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply effective optimizations.
• We require strong communication, problem-solving, documentation, and customer service skills.
• We expect the ability to manage projects, juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• We need the ability to mentor junior IT staff and build effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in education or the public sector, cloud and disaster recovery exposure, ITIL knowledge, and advanced Linux or AIX certifications such as RHCE or LPIC-2/LPIC-3.

• We install, configure, and maintain Linux servers to keep systems stable, secure, and reliable.
• We manage user accounts, permissions, and group access on Linux platforms.
• We monitor server performance, investigate issues, and fine-tune systems to improve efficiency.
• We apply security patches, updates, and configurations, and we conduct audits and vulnerability checks.
• We implement, schedule, and test backup and recovery solutions, including disaster recovery planning.
• We resolve complex technical problems involving Linux, hardware, software, and networking.
• We create and maintain shell scripts and automation workflows to streamline administration.
• We participate in Linux-related IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
• We prepare documentation, troubleshooting guides, and reports for IT leadership.
• We train and mentor junior IT staff and support end users on Linux systems and best practices.
• We collaborate with other IT teams, departments, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver solutions and communicate system changes.
• We perform other related duties as assigned.
