Position Summary

Mayzon is seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded Sr Sales Analyst – Global Walmart to support and accelerate growth across the Walmart account. Based in Bentonville, this newly created role will serve as the analytical lead for the Walmart business, partnering closely with Sales and Walmart stakeholders to translate data into actionable business strategies.

The Sr Analyst will own the development of sales reporting, business insights, performance analysis, and customer-facing analytics that help Mayzon identify opportunities, understand business performance, improve execution, and make informed decisions with Walmart.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical capabilities with excellent business judgment and communication skills. This individual must be comfortable working with large datasets, identifying trends and root causes, developing clear recommendations, and presenting insights to senior leaders and Walmart partners.

Key Responsibilities

Walmart Sales & Business Performance Analytics

• Own the overall sales analytics agenda for the Walmart account, establishing consistent reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and analytical processes.
• Analyze Walmart point-of-sale, shipment, market share, pricing, assortment, and other account data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc performance reporting for the Walmart business.
• Monitor sales performance by category, item, brand, channel, geography, and other relevant dimensions.
• Identify sales gaps and opportunities and provide clear recommendations to the Sales team and leadership.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of sales performance, including changes in distribution, assortment, pricing, inventory, promotion, seasonality, and competitive activity.
• Serve as key point person for Scintilla and own ROI for tool investment.
• Supports Walmart US, Walmart Canada, Walmart Mexico, Dot Com, Sam’s Club
• Supports Top to Top deck creation
• Spearheads Gigaguru Reporting
• Maintain Scintilla attribution

Forecasting & Business Planning

• Support Demand Planning by aligning sales forecasts with inventory and demand plans.
• Analyze historical trends, seasonality, promotional activity, new-item launches, distribution changes, and other factors affecting demand.
• Support annual operating plans, budgets, business reviews, and long-range planning for the Walmart account.
• Provide analytical support for customer-specific sales targets and growth plans.

Walmart Customer & Category Insights

• Develop a deep understanding of Walmart's categories, shoppers, competitive environment, and business priorities. Collaborate with corporate Category Insights team.
• Analyze category and market-share performance to identify areas where Mayzon can gain distribution, share, or sales.
• Evaluate assortment performance and identify opportunities for item rationalization, new-item development, distribution expansion, and assortment optimization.
• Analyze pricing and promotional performance to understand sales and profitability impacts.
• Support category reviews, line reviews, Joint Business Planning (JBP), Quarterly Business
• Reviews (QBRs), and other Walmart customer meetings with data-driven insights.
• Create customer-ready analytics and compelling selling stories that translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
• Partner with Sales to develop fact-based presentations that demonstrate Mayzon's performance and growth opportunities.
• Report and Analyze dot com performance, and support e-commerce team in online initiatives.

Retail Link & Walmart Data Management

• Become a subject-matter expert on Walmart data resources and analytical platforms, including Retail Link, Scintilla and other relevant Walmart systems.
• Establish processes for validating Walmart data and resolving discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to improve the collection, integration, and utilization of Walmart data.
• Evaluate new Walmart data sources and analytical tools that could improve Mayzon's account management capabilities.
• Ensure data integrity across internal reporting systems and Walmart platforms.

Dashboard & Reporting Development

• Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and reporting tools that provide a clear view of Walmart business performance.
• Develop automated reporting in PowerBI wherever possible to reduce manual reporting and improve speed and accuracy.
• Establish KPI dashboards covering sales, units, distribution, inventory, market share, pricing, promotional performance, and other key account metrics.
• Translate complex datasets into simple, visually compelling dashboards and reports.
• Continuously improve reporting based on feedback from Sales leadership and business stakeholders.
• Establish a single source of truth for key Walmart sales metrics.

Sales Strategy & Opportunity Identification

• Partner with the Walmart Sales team to identify and quantify growth opportunities.
• Use data to support decisions related to assortment, pricing, distribution, promotions, new products, and account strategy.
• Develop business cases for proposed initiatives, including expected sales and financial impact.
• Identify underperforming items, categories, customers, or programs and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze incremental sales opportunities associated with new items, expanded distribution, assortment changes, and promotional programs.
• Support strategic account planning with fact-based insights and recommendations.

Financial & Profitability Analytics

• Monitor the financial performance of the Walmart account and identify significant variances.
• Develop financial analyses and scenarios to support customer negotiations and business decisions.
• Provide analytical support for Walmart business reviews and internal financial reviews.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as the primary analytics partner to the Walmart Sales team.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Customer Service, and Operations.
• Translate business questions into analytical projects and deliver actionable conclusions.
• Lead cross-functional analytical projects from problem definition through recommendation and implementation.
• Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Walmart merchant and business partners.
• Help create a data-driven culture within the Walmart account team.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in sales analytics, business analytics, retail analytics, category management, finance, or a related field.
• Experience supporting a Walmart supplier.
• Strong experience analyzing retail/POS data and translating it into business recommendations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms strongly preferred.
• Experience with Walmart Retail Link and Scintilla Charter.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills.
• Ability to work with large datasets and identify meaningful trends and business drivers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Consumer products, home goods, retail, or other Walmart supplier experience.
• Experience with Walmart Retail Link, Item 360, Supplier One, Scintilla, QMS, or comparable retail systems.
• Experience with market-share and syndicated data.
• Experience supporting Walmart JBP, QBR, line reviews, or category reviews.
• Experience building automated dashboards and reporting solutions.
• SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytical/database tools.
• Experience developing sales forecasts and financial models.
