As the building’s designated safety champion, you will build relationships, influence positive change, and help write the next chapter in Amazon’s commitment to becoming Earth’s Safest Place to Work. Core Responsibilities Drive comprehensive safety programs through data‑driven strategies. Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments. Implement innovative solutions to prevent injuries and maintain operational efficiency. Deliver engaging safety training that resonates with associates and promotes a proactive safety culture. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the workplace safety program. Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing. Develop strong partnerships across all levels of the organization to foster a safety‑minded culture. Transform safety data into clear narratives to influence positive change and drive engagement. Additional Job Elements Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts. Work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures. Climb and descend stairs where applicable. Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist with site emergency response. Must be available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends. First Aid, CPR, AED certification may be required within a set period after start date where applicable. Location note: USA, OR, Fairview – 27.00 - 33.00 USD hourly. Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910 A minimum of 1 year in an environmental health & safety (EHS) related field OR a bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related background OR 6 months experience in a safety-related role within Amazon Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personal issues in the workplace Preferred Qualifications Experience in workers’ compensation case management Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a safety-related field Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills Experience leading and managing a team; ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns; conduct job hazard analyses Experience in emergency response and current First Aid and CPR certificates Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
